About Us

In April 1970, the first shipment of Raypak gas-fired hot water boilers arrived in Melbourne from the US. These initial boilers were used mainly in commercial air-conditioning systems, but soon the fledgling Raypak Australia began to import gas swimming pool heaters.

In 1982, Raypak Australia commenced manufacturing in Melbourne, tailoring the US design to meet local market requirements and conform to local regulations.

In 1997, the company was aquired by Raypak, Inc., its US licensor. Raypak, Inc. is based near Los Angeles and is itself a division of the Rheem Manufacturing Company of New York. Rheem is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paloma Industries of Nagoya Japan, the world’s largest producer of gas appliances.

Raypak Australia have been importing and distributing Paloma portable gas space heaters for almost 10 years and in recent  times larger portable gas convetor heating models and radiant convector models were introduced making Paloma a major player in this segment.

Additonally, the Raypak product range has now increased to include Heat Pumps for Pool & Spa Heating, Outdoor Gas Fireplaces, Outdoor/Indoor Wood Fireplaces, Outdoor kitchens, Indoor built-in gas firepalces, Indoor Freestanding Gas fireplaces and Electric Flame Effect Fireplaces.
